This was following a mass layoff in 2015 when I lost my corporate job.  I had always enjoyed organizing and I like to solve puzzles and problems.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>While home in Wisconsin over Thanksgiving in 2015, I helped my sister&#8217;s family get settled into their new house by unpacking and organizing for them.  My boyfriend (now my husband!) asked me what I was up to.  I told him I was organizing at my sister&#8217;s house and listed all of the rooms I had completed.  He said &#8220;Looks like you found your new career!&#8221;  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It was a lightbulb moment.  I had never, EVER thought about organizing as a career!  The first thing I did was google &#8220;professional organizing in Denver&#8221; and I immediately found <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\"NAPO (opens in a new tab)\" href=\"https:\/\/www.allrightmoves.com\/about\/\" target=\"_blank\">NAPO<\/a>!  And the rest is history \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4> Q: Why did you decide to become an organizing expert?<br><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>I decided to become a professional organizer because I felt like everything had lined up for me to at least TRY doing this as a career.  I just celebrated my 3rd year anniversary for my business and have never looked back! <br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4>Q: Why should people choose a NAPO professional over other non-NAPO service providers?<br><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>As a board member of the Colorado NAPO chapter, I only recommend and subcontract with other NAPO professionals.  By using NAPO associates, I am assured that the person I am working with is a professional. They hold themselves to a high standard, have their own business and carry business insurance.  By being part of a professional organization such as NAPO, we show that we are serious about our businesses and we aren&#8217;t organizing as a &#8220;hobby&#8221;.  <br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4>Q: What benefits do your clients see after working with you?<br><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"alignleft is-resized\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.allrightmoves.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/04\/SLmovingsignedStreamlinedLivingColorado-848x1024.jpg\" alt=\"Unpack &amp; Settling-in Services\" class=\"wp-image-4322\" width=\"262\" height=\"314\"\/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>My clients appreciate that I work really hard to not have items go into the garbage\/landfill.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>I bring general donation items to a thrift store that benefits domestic violence victims.  <\/li><li>I haul away hard-to-recycle items and bring them to a business that employs developmentally disabled people.  <\/li><li>Deliver donated cocktail, prom and &#8220;nicer&#8221; dresses as well as beauty supplies to a non-profit that allows lower-income girls to shop for their homecoming and prom dresses for free.  <\/li><li>Transport pet donations to an animal shelter.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>I&#8217;ve been told by several clients that they appreciate it so much that I go the extra step by bringing their donations to various non-profits on their behalf.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4> Q:  What&#8217;s your best organizing tip for someone who is moving? <\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>De-clutter and purge BEFORE you start packing.  It&#8217;s incredible how many times I&#8217;ve been called to help a client get unpacked and settled after their move and they&#8217;ll have a TON of donations for me to haul away!  That&#8217;s totally ok but it would have saved them <a href=\"https:\/\/www.allrightmoves.com\/how-it-works\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\"time and money (opens in a new tab)\">time and money<\/a> to have not packed and moved those items from their previous home!  <br> <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4>How to work with Meghan:<br><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Meghan Siddall-Maxson is a NAPO professional based out of Denver, Colorado.
